Run For The Border…

Is it my imagination, or did Taco Bell actually taste better back in the day?  You know…back when they used the old sign and their buildings looked like they were made out of adobe?  Maybe it’s just my memory playing tricks on me.  I will admit..I do like that new volcano taco!

Hmm, I’m not sure architecture can improve fast food–maybe more bathrooms? The kids still love the “Bell”, but that’s not saying much, they can’t see the difference between BK and Red Robin…

  2. Perhaps the Bell isn’t the same without the good Cap’n riding shotgun. It takes talent to drive a stick while eating tacos… Thankfully I mastered the task 30 years ago…

  3. Living in Texas (boy, we moved around a lot!) I was more of a Taco Villa kinda guy.

When we moved out of Texas, that was a problem, because it seems that Taco Villa was a TX/NM only thing. I converted to Taco Bell out of necessity, but even now, I can remember how much better Taco Villa was.

    I feel a short blog comin’ on…

  4. The same goes for me. With all of the moving around I’ve done, I can always find a good Mexican fast food chain. No matter where you go, you can always find a Taco Bell open…so I tend to end up there more times than I should.

Growing up my favorite chain was Taco John’s http://www.tacojohns.com. My dad was one of their first customers back in Wyoming in the 60’s, and I ate there all the time when I lived in both Wyoming and Illinois.

When I lived in Virginia Beach, my all-time favorite taco place was Speedy Gonzales. They had 2 locations one in Norfolk and one in Virginia Beach. Their bean burritos were incredible. I went back to VA a few years ago hoping to eat at Speedy’s, but they had closed up shop. I’m still depressed!
